What we do
Our flagship product is Defender which employs cutting edge AI, ML and Blockchain technologies to process both incoming and outgoing payment messages received from banks using Defender’s APIs.
Defender collaborates with our technology partners to allow banks and third-party payment providers (TPPs) to confirm the identity of payees (Confirmation of Payee) and detect fraudulent payments using our (patent pending) KYPayee and AVAssess fraud detection models. Blockchain provides the inherent immutability which is essential to maintaining the auditability and integrity of our real-time KYPayee and AVAssess analysis and alerts.
KYPayee is our Know Your Payee proprietary technology which conducts real-time payee verification and fraud analysis. AVAssess is our Account Vulnerability Assessment proprietary technology which conducts real-time assessments based on multiple behavioural factors of account holders, including age and demographics.
Defender technologies have been developed in collaboration with UK academics and are continuously stress-tested to ensure that over 90% of payment fraud are detected in real-time.

Douglas has extensive experience in banking and financial technology having worked in several leadership roles at Barclays Corporate Bank, Barclays Wealth Management, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, RBS NatWest, ABN AMRO. Rudolf Wolff, and Deutsche Sharpes Pixley. Douglas started his consultancy career at Logica UK in 1988.
Douglas holds BSc (Hon) in Psychology, University of London, PGDip (Commendation) in Business Information Technology, Northumbria University, MSc (Distinction) in Applied Accountancy and Finance, London South Bank University and is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA).
